David Newman, 69, Minot, ND, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Sanford Roger Maris Hospital, Fargo.

David Lee Newman was born March 8, 1956, the son of Lester and Claire (Henjum) Newman, in Minot. He was raised and educated in Minot, graduating in 1974 from Bishop Ryan High School.

Immediately after high school, he started working for Behm’s Propane for 25 years. In August of 1999, he started his own business, Tri-N Propane, which he owned and operated until he retired in August 2017. Dave had a strong work ethic and was dedicated to his business. He established many lifelong friendships throughout his career.

He was once married to Margie Newman. They were blessed with two children, Todd and Shauna. Later, he met his lifelong partner, Nancy Morken.

Dave had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed tending to his five-acre homestead. Family was very important to him, and he always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren.

His loving family includes: son, Todd Newman and his daughter, Olivia Newman; daughter, Shauna (Jon) Garrahy and their daughters, McKenna and Blakely Garrahy; partner, Nancy Morken; mother of his children, Margie Newman; brother, Donald (Joni) Newman, sister, Connie Newman; niece, Kimberly (Kelsey) McNally, nephews, Matthew (Portia) Benjamin, Tylor (Jennifer) Miller; uncle, Dennis (Janice) Newman; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Newman.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, January 30, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
