Sharon Peterson

Eden Prairie, Minn.

Sharon Peterson (Aaberg), age 77, of Crosby, ND and Eden Prairie, MN, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025. Sharon was born in Williston, ND to Walter and Lois Aaberg and was raised on her family’s farm near Zahl where she developed lifelong values of faith, family and hard work. She attended Crosby High School and Minot State College, later working for Amerada Hess, National Car Rental and Basin Electric. Sharon married Jerry Peterson in 1970, and together they built a life rooted in farming and community. She was a devoted wife to Jerry and a strong, caring mother to sons Jeremy and Jeff. Sharon spent 23 years working for the Divide County School District where she was known for her warmth and dedication. She was active in Concordia Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, music, crafts, playing cards and spending time with loved ones. She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the joy and fun she brought to everyday life. Sharon is survived by her husband Jerry of Crosby and Eden Prairie; her sons Jeremy (Amanda) of Plymouth, MN and Jeff of Long Lake, MN; grandsons Wesley and Reed; mother Lois Aaberg of Crosby; siblings Dianne Erickson (Chuck) of Bismarck, Susan Welo (Rory) of West Fargo, Darla Hansen (Scott) of Noonan, and Warren Aaberg (Lyn) of Zahl; sister and brother-in-law JoAnn and Sheldon Gudmunson of Minot; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In eternal rest she joins her father Walter Aaberg; father and mother-in-law Grover and Ruth Peterson; and niece Maari Gudmunson. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie, MN. Arrangements are with Huber Funeral Homes of Eden Prairie.
