Paul Alexander–85, Tolley, ND, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at the Minot hospital.

Paul Marshall Alexander was the first-born child to Leland and Eldora (Ones) Alexander, on September 4, 1940 in Minot, ND. He was raised on the Alexander farm, until age 6, when the family moved to Tolley. He attended elementary school in Tolley and graduated from Tolley High School in 1959.

Shortly after high school, Paul found himself on a custom-combining crew in Colorado where he met Terry Remington. They were united in marriage on February 16, 1963. They made their home in Tolley for a time, before establishing the Paul Alexander farm. Together they had two daughters, Jana in 1968 and Heidi in 1973. In addition to agriculture, Paul was passionate about aviation and travel. Developing a seasonal career in crop dusting that led him from North Dakota to Texas and Washington state.

Time with his family in the mouse river valley was something Paul cherished throughout his lifetime. In his young days, he would spend countless days with his aunts, uncles and cousins making memories. He had the ‘gift of gab” and enjoyed time visiting over coffee. Paul greatly enjoyed trips and would drive to Arizona and South Dakota to spend time with family. Their last cross country at the age of 83. In July of 2025, Paul’s final out-of-state trip was to attend a family reunion in Colorado.

Though Paul navigated a challenging path earlier in his life, his later years were defined by sacrifice, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to care for Terry.

Paul is survived by: Terry Alexander, thier daughters: Jana (Mike) Love; Heidi (Chris) Huiras;

five grandchildren: Anguss Hill, Silkee Hill, Elise Scudmore, Alexis Huiras, Linkin Huiras; four great-grandchildren: Brystol Rasmuson, Adelynn Hill, Sawyer Hill, Sloane Cox-Hill; Sister-in-law: Mary Lou Alexander, brother in-law Ken Remington, and sister in-law Karen Shonka.
