LeRoy Clarence Huus, 89, of San Ramon, California, passed away on December 24, 2025, in a Walnut Creek hospital.
Born on April 26, 1936, in Stanley, North Dakota, to Clarence and Palma (Anstensen) Huus, LeRoy was raised and educated in Minot, North Dakota. He attended Minot State Teachers College before serving in the United States Air Force. He earned his business degree from the University of Oregon in 1963 and passed the CPA exam in 1965. LeRoy began his professional career with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. and spent most of his 35-year tenure in the heavy construction industry, primarily as Controller for Dillingham Construction. His career took him to diverse locations, including Honolulu, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, El Paso, Boston and Izmir, Turkey. After retiring, he returned to Honolulu for a time before settling in Sacramento and ultimately San Ramon.
LeRoy was known for his kindness and gentle disposition. He loved to host holiday dinners and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. He generously coached his children’s youth sports teams and was a passionate fan of Oregon Ducks football, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Oakland A’s. He was a also a proud lifetime member of the Elks (Beaverton #1989)
He is survived by his children, Darren Huus (Christie), Darnelle Aynesworth, and Leanne Parrish; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Cody, Brennan, Caitlyn, Justine, Carson, and Aimree; and five great-grandchildren, Luella, Emersyn, Nathaniel, Parker, and Scottie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Palma Huus, and his siblings, Phyllis, Buddy, Delores, and Harriet.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in early 2026.
