Josephine (Lemer) Miller, age 104, of Drake, ND passed away December 12, 2025, in Harvey, ND. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Rosary and Vigil Service at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Drake, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Graner celebrating, with lunch at the Drake Knights of Columbus Hall and burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Orrin, ND in the Spring.

She was born on April 14, 1921, to Louis and Theresa (Martell) Lemer on the family farm north of Drake. She attended Lake George Township Country School through the 8th grade. She married Constantine Miller on October 4, 1938, at Sacred Heart Church in Orrin, ND. They made their home southwest of Orrin where they raised 5 boys and 4 girls. Farming and raising cattle along with some sheep, pigs, chickens and gardening kept them very busy. Their youngest son joined the farming operation in 1985 allowing them some leisure time. They fully retired and moved to Drake in 1999.

Josephine loved company. She enjoyed baking, cooking and entertaining. She hosted many Sunday meals after church until her eyesight prohibited her from doing so (her Drake daughter and daughter-in-laws stepped in at that time). She enjoyed playing cards and games with friends and family. Most of all she loved having visits with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Constantine passed away in 2001. She continued to reside in Drake until August 2025 when she entered SMP St. Aloisius Long Term Care. There she made new friends and reconnected with old friends. Participating in the many daily activities was her favorite thing. You could never find her idly sitting in her room alone. Before moving to Drake, she was a member of the Orrin Sacred Heart Church, Christian Mothers and served on the Orrin Parish Council. She was also a member of the Drake Senior Center and St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

She is survived by children; LeRoy (Elaine) of Drake, Larry (Linda) of Minot, Myron (Mary Kay) of Orrin, Marion Uhlich of Drake, Marlene Schaefer of Bismarck, Connie (Julius) of Jamestown and Shirley Bruner of Anamoose; 31 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 32 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, son Bill and wife Carol, Son Alvin and wife Vicki, son-in-law’s James Uhlich, Galen Schaefer and Neal Bruner, grandchildren Todd Miller, Curt Decker, Cameron Miller and Melissa Gange, siblings John, Henry and Benjamin Lemer, Joe, Johnny and Aloyis Kramer, Katie Kuntz, Ann Kuntz, Phyllis Cooley and Theresa Lemer.

The family would like to thank Kelly Cox, Mary Ann Lemer and Lasting Love Agency for all the wonderful home care. Thank you to the wonderful staff at SMP St. Aloisius Long Term Care for their care and compassion.
