Harriet Huus Torgerson
June 22, 1941 – December 6, 2025
Marble Falls, Texas
Harriet Huus Torgerson passed away peacefully at her home in Marble Falls, Texas, on December 6, 2025. Born in Minot, North Dakota, she was the youngest of five children of Palma Hulberg Huus and Clarence Huus. She grew up in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1959.
In June of 1960, Harriet married Mylon Torgerson. Mylon’s career with a major oil company led them to a 35-year adventure, living in Wyoming, California, Texas, and Colorado while they built their life together. They welcomed three children, Linda, Les, and Andrew, who remained at the heart of everything Harriet did.
Outgoing, warm, and always ready to lend a hand, Harriet held many jobs over the years, including work in childcare, medical supplies, construction, and as a receptionist. She made friends everywhere she went. A passionate sports fan, Harriet was known for cheering loudly for her favorite baseball and football teams–whether you were watching with her or happened to be within earshot you knew who she was rooting for.
After retirement, Harriet and Mylon settled in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where they enjoyed over 30 wonderful years. In recent years, they moved to Marble Falls, Texas, to be closer to family.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Palma, her siblings Phyllis, Buddy, and Delores. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Mylon; her children Linda (Henry) Garcia, Les (Kim) Torgerson, and Andy Torgerson; her brother Leroy Huus; six grandchildren–Chris Garcia, Blake Garcia, Gabrielle (Nick) Ebener, Lynsey Torgerson, Miles Torgerson, and Bailey (John) Muench–and three great-grandchildren, Oakli, Robert, and Anni Ebener.
Harriet will be remembered for her spirited personality, her devotion to family, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
