Doreen Vetter—-86, Minot, died Sunday, November 23, 2025 in a Minot hospital.
Doreen MacDonald was born on October 7, 1939, a daughter of David and Ruby (Johnson) MacDonald in Rolla, ND. She was raised and educated in the Rolla area, where she graduated from Rolla High School.
Doreen furthered her education by attending Minot State Teachers College, where she met Francis Vetter. The couple was united in marriage on August 16, 1960, at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Rolla, ND. They made their home in Minot, where they welcomed son Gregory.
Doreen worked for a time as a county agent and also sold Tupperware. Her favorite role was her role as a wife and mother. Francis would describe his wife as “Always a Girl Scout, ready to help others and lend a hand.” She enjoyed collecting Beanie babies and Marie Osmond dolls.
She was a member of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, the PTA, and a Homemakers group. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend and will be missed by all that knew her.
Doreen is survived by:
Husband of 65 years, Francis; son Gregory of CA; sister-in-law, Barbara Vetter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doreen was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings.
