Philip Evje

St. Paul, Minn.

Philip Evje 85 died November 4, 2025 at the VA Minneapolis Hospital hospice. He was born September 8, 1940 and lived most of his life in Minot, ND before moving to St. Paul. He graduated from Minot State College with a degree in Music and subsequently in Education.

He went on to serve in the Army with the Army Band in Fort Collins, Colorado which gave him great joy. In addition to teaching music in schools he used his music to perform in a number of venues as well as serving as church organist for a number of years. He was a generous soul and loved buying flowers which he showered on family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Morris and Frieda Evje of Minot, his sister Carolyn Evje and niece Laural Broom of Shreveport, LA as well as brother-in-law Gerald Barnes of St. Paul, MN.

He is survived by his sister Valerie Evje of St. Paul and nieces Jennifer Barnes of St. Louis, MO and Lisa Bourque of Bossier City, LA.
