MOHALL- Mildred Caroline Irene “Millie” Hagen, 100, of Mohall, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at a Minot hospital.

She was born Oct. 14, 1925, on the family farm northeast of Mohall, the youngest daughter of Axel and Augusta (Eck) Nelson. She was raised on the family farm, attended Sherman Township School and graduated from Mohall High School in 1943.

Millie married Henry Hagen on April 6, 1946, at Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot. She worked at the Renville County Treasurer Office and later Citizens State Bank, then stayed home to raise her five children. Henry and Millie took over the operation of the Nelson family farm. In 1977, they retired from farming and moved into Mohall. Millie worked at the Good Samaritan Society nursing home for 16 years, first as a nurse’s aide, then as a physical therapy assistant.

Millie was Henry’s in-home caregiver for many years, prior to his death on Jan. 6, 2009.

Millie was a member of First Lutheran Church of Antler until it closed. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall, and the Martha Circle of WELCA, Sherman Homemakers, Friendly Neighbors Senior Citizens, was an active member of the Mohall PTA and Music Boosters, the Good Samaritan Society Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Millie loved studying genealogy, playing Scrabble and board games.

Family: children, Donald Hagen, Glen Ullin, Betty Nordstrom, Minot, Allie (Ron) Sagness, Bowbells, Cari (Bill) Liebel, Watford City, Kathy (Darrell) Richter, Brooklyn Park, Minn.; grandchildren, Ronny (Tangy) Torgerson, and their children, Nolan, Grady and Livi; Kelly (Chris) Vigness, and their children, McCoy, Sutton and Zane; Kristen (Paul) Olsen, and their children, Greta, Luke, Heidi and Veronica; Pam (Rob) Schmit, and their children, Evan, Alaina, Owen and Soren; Laura (Cory) Magnuson, and their children, Everett, Emilia and Ellis; Jon (Missy) Sagness, and their children, Bianca, Payton, Chloe and Jay; Matthew (Amy) Liebel, and their children, Mason, Bridget and Lincoln; Kenny (Carissa) Liebel, and their children, Harper and Jack; Nick (Ashlyn) Liebel; and Mitchell Liebel; step grandchildren, Kim (John) Ramirez, Lori (Tim Mau) Duvall, and her children, Serena (Wyatt) Zietz, Brock (Dani) Harris; Greg Nordstrom, and his children, Mia (Ben) Pfeiffer, Brandon Nordstrom and Reece Nordstrom; step great-great-grandchildren, Averie, Oaklie, Reed and River Zietz, and John Pfeiffer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Millie was preceded in death by: her parents, Axel and Augusta Nelson; husband, Henry Hagen; great-granddaughter, Iva Schmit; sons-in-law, Terry Torgerson and Dale Nordstrom; brothers, Merton and Ernest Nelson, sisters, Vera Nelson, Edna Jensen and Mary Cameron; brothers- and sister-in-law, Olaf, Melvin, Art, Ernest and Hector Hagen, and Marie Braathen; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral: 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall.

Burial: Mohall Community Cemetery, Mohall.

Sharing of Memories Service (Open to the Public): 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at the church.
