Stuart Holmes, 70, Minot, ND, died Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Stuart Holmes was born September 4, 1955, the son of Cecil and Ione (Buran) Holmes, in Minot, ND. He attended Minot Public Schools.

After the death of his parents, Stuart became one of Minot Vocational Workshops now Kalix, first residents and was employed through the workshop until he retired.

Stuart traveled to many states. He loved listening to music, watching the news and football, he of course was a Minnesota Vikings fan. He had a knack of making stories more interesting, and a good sense of humor. His favorite restaurant was Ebeneezer’s.

Stuart was a good son, brother, and uncle. God Bless Stuart’s memory.

His loving family includes: sisters, Sharilyn Ogren, and Sharlene Simpson; brother, Shervin Holmes; nieces, Melissa (Jeff), Michelle, Stephanie (Jason), Kimberly, Leigh, and Leslie; nephew, Alex (Michelle); along with many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Paul Ogren, and William Simpson.

Funeral: Tuesday, October 14, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minot

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.

Visitation: will take place one hour prior to the service.
