Stanley Mosser

Sept. 21, 1951-Oct. 9, 2025

Minot

Stanley “Stan” Mosser, 74, Minot, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 9th, 2025.

Stanley Keith Mosser was born on September 21, 1951 in Rugby, ND, the son of Steven and Loretta (Wentz) Mosser. He was raised on a farm outside of Balfour, ND and graduated from high school there. After high school Stan attended Minot State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Stan later attended the University of Little Rock Arkansas and received his master’s degree in Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Stan married his wife Mabel (Mae) Pister in Butte, ND on June 8th, 1973. They had three children, Jeremy, Josh, and McKenzie. They raised their family in Minot, ND where Stan worked as a Low Vision Specialist at the Human Service Center and later at Williams Medical Eye Center Minot. Stan and Mae then moved to Helena MT, where Stan started the Low Vision Program at Fort Harrison VA Center. They returned to Minot and Stan continued to work in Low Vision until retiring in 2023. He was very passionate and committed to helping all of his patients throughout his career. While Stan enjoyed all of his patients, his favorite people to work with were children and WWII and Vietnam Veterans.

Stan was a long-time member of Our Savior Lutheran Church with different involvements over the years.

Stan enjoyed gardening, tinkering in the garage (the man could fix anything), and loved a good western, or any western for that matter. He also enjoyed fishing, especially with his brother-in-law Delmer Mock. His favorite hobby was spending time with his 9 grandchildren. He loved playing games with them, especially poker with the boys, and was not above cheating to win. He was so proud of all of the kids’ activities, we know he will forever be cheering them on from the best seat in the house. Many memories were made during summer vacations with the family and cruises in the winter months. While he was not a big fan of music, he did enjoy a little Willie Nelson and The Outlaws.

Stan had a good sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to mess with his grandkids. I think that is what we will all miss the most.

Thank you for the memories, laughter, joy, and love you gave us.

Hasta La Vista, Dad…and Aloha-ha!

Stan’s loving family includes his wife, Mae of Minot, children Jeremy Mosser (Richelle Johnson) of Minot, ND, Josh (Lisa) Mosser of Cando, ND, McKenzie (Brad) Nelson of Minot, ND, grandchildren Vayda, Milo, and Millie Mosser; Gage and Gracie Mosser; Kashtyn, Chasee, Daysi, and Bodie Nelson, siblings Virginia Ulrich, Cindy Ward, Vern Mosser, Jackie Saeger, Debi Mosser, Bonnie Pister, Geri Anderson, Jeff Mosser, Steve Mosser, Todd Mosser, and good friend Larry Zeeb, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
