Philip Dahle, age 86, currently living in Sioux Falls, SD formerly of Minot, ND, died October 26, 2025 in the VA Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls, SD. Philip was born April 5, 1939, in Minot, ND to Truman and Agnes (Bjelland) Dahle. He lived in Carpio, ND until moving with his parents to Mohall, ND in 1946. He graduated from Mohall High School in 1957. He attended Minot State Teachers College for two years. In 1959, he joined the Army National Guard, 164th Engineers Battalion, HQ Company in Minot. He was activated in 1961 for the Berlin Crisis, returning home in 1962. He was Honorably Discharged from the Army National Guard in 1965. Philip was employed by the North Dakota Department of Transportation, Construction Division in Minot ND in the fall of 1962. He retired after 35 years of service in 1997. Philip was united in marriage to Rosella (Sally) Kambeitz on May 9, 1964 in Minot. They had two children Sharon and Mark. Philip and Sally enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Spending quality time with friends and family at the family cabin at Lake Metigoshe, camping at various state parks, golfing, traveling and spending time together. They also enjoyed attending grandchildren’s events throughout the years, and eventually decided to leave Minot to move closer to family. Philip enjoyed horseback riding as a young adult and was able to rekindle that love after retirement with his cousin Gale near Carpio. Philip was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge, a member of the Eagles Lodge, American Legion and Moose Lodge. He was also a founding member of the Club de Skinautique Water Ski Club, Lake Metigoshe.
Surviving family includes: daughter, Sharon (BillyJoe) Heap, Sioux Falls, SD; son, Mark (Angie) Dahle, St Cloud, MN; grandchildren Samantha (Richard) Buechler, Adam (Kate) Heap, Megan Dahle and Gavin Dahle; great-granddaughter, Cora Buechler; nieces, nephews and cousins. Philip Is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sally; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas & Mitzi Dahle; brothers-in-law, Richard Kambeitz, Joe Kambeitz, LeRoy Kambeitz; and sisters-in-law, Marcella Johnson and Diane Kambeitz.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Active Generations Adult Day Break East Program for their loving care of Philip during the day over the last several months.
Funeral: Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service.
