Marlys Larsen Radenz, 88, Eagan, MN, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Brookdale Senior Living, Eagan, MN .
Marlys Helene Larsen was born January 25, 1937, in Flaxton, ND; daughter of Alfred and Sarah Larsen.
She married Kenneth Radenz, Sept. 22, 1957 at the Lutheran Church in Flaxton, ND. They had 3 children, Vicki, Nancy, and Scott. They primarily raised their family in Jamestown, ND. They also spent many years living in Minot, ND before settling in Eagan, MN to be closer to their children.
Marlys was a homemaker, and gave of her time generously volunteering for local organizations. When her children got older she was employed in a variety of jobs such as secretary of Trinity Lutheran Church, and co-owner of Frontier Western Store in Jamestown, ND.
She was an avid sewer and needle crafter. She made numerous quilts for friends and family, and was masterful in creating beautiful hardanger embroidery pieces. She won numerous awards at the Burke County and Stutsman County Fair for sewing, needle work, and baked goods. She loved spending time with family and friends.
Her loving family includes: her spouse Kenneth; children, Vicki Dooley (Robert) of Minneapolis, MN, Nancy Giffen (Ralph) of Manassas, VA, and Scott Radenz of Eagan, MN; and grandsons, Benjamin and Alexander Giffen.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Sarah; her brothers Dwain Larsen, Merwyn Larsen, and her twin sister Marlene Decker.
A private family gathering was held on Saturday, Sept, 27, 2025 in Minneapolis, MN. She will be returned home to Flaxton, ND at a later date.
