Tioga

Robert John Dahl was born in Langdon, ND on August 16, 1954, the oldest of six children to Jorgen and Laurie (Fetsch) Dahl. Robert was baptized into the Catholic faith at St Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon.

Robert, also called Bobby John, was raised and educated in Tioga, ND. He went to Job Corp in Montana for a time and earned his welding certificate. He returned to Tioga and worked with his brother-in-law Kirk at Tioga Air Heaters, then went to work for Roustabout Service and worked with his Dad. He had many stories about working alongside his Dad in the oilfield, he was proud to be his helper. Bobby worked for Teledyne for a couple years, then worked for Farm Setup, he got to do some traveling and really enjoyed putting farm machinery together. He was also employed at the Leever’s County Market in Devils Lake, ND before his retirement in 2013.

After retirement Bobby moved to Glenburn, ND to be close to his sister Tammy and her family.

June 4th, 2025, was a happy day, Bobby moved back home to Tioga into the Tioga Long Term Care to be a roommate with his brother Jorgen. Three months was not much time, but they were so happy to be together again.

Bobby loved to visit and tell stories, he enjoyed being outside driving his side by side, fishing, going to car races and watching the nearby farmers at harvest time. He enjoyed watching movies, especially old westerns, listening to music, playing cards and spending time with his friends and family.

Bobby was a big football fan, the Minnesota Vikings were his team; he loved watching and talking about the games and players.

Bobby passed away on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, at the Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND at the age of 71.

His loving family includes his two brothers, Mark and Jorgen of Tioga, ND; sisters, Judy (Kirk) Odegaard of Tioga, ND and Linda (Ron) Fickert of Edmore, ND; brother-in-law, Joey Barron of Glenburn, ND. Nieces and nephews, Hope (Jerick) Hensen, Holly (Rob) Bryant, Haley (Patrick) Alberts, Hannah (Carter) Valliere, Michelle (Jason) Concha, Shane Barron, Sandra, Randy, Dwight and Nikki Fickert and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Jorgen and Laurie Dahl; grandparents, John (Jack) and Margaret Fetsch and Joseph and Emma Dahl; sister, Tammy Barron; niece, Jennifer Barron and several aunts and uncles.

The family would like to thank the Tioga Long Term Care Staff for all the love and support that was shown to Bobby John while he was in their care.

Robert’s Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Tioga, ND. Father Corey Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in United Cemetery in Tioga, ND. Visitation will be held at the Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel in Tioga on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a Vigil, open to the public, to be held immediately following.
