Karen Fawbush, 81, Minot, ND, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Trinity Hospital. 

Karen Emelia Amundson was born January 25, 1944, the daughter of Clarence and Effie (Mikkelson) Amundson, in Minot. She was raised and educated in Minot and Rugby.     

She married Oren “Bud” Fawbush June 18, 1961, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot and were blessed with two sons, Warren and Randy. Bud passed away December 8, 2020.  

She was a member of Eagles Clubs since the early 1970’s where she held multiple office positions locally and statewide. She was Minot Auxiliary President, the North Central Regional President, and the Dakota State Madame President. Karen also received numerous awards including Mrs. Eagle, and with her husband Bud, awarded Mr. and Mrs. Eagle. Karen was inducted into the Eagles Hall of fame which is a very high honor for a member of the Eagles club. She also donated a lot of her time and effort to charity. Her main charity was Home on the Range for boys. 

She was an avid scrapbooker. She loved spending time with family and friends. Her home was a safe place for everyone around her. 

Her loving family includes:  children, Warren Fawbush and Randy (Kotomi) Fawbush;  grandsons, Sean Fawbush and Darren Fawbush; twin sister, Sharon Halseth; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Bud; brothers, Bernard (Ceceila) Amundson, Emerald (Fern) Amundson, Gordon (Kaye) Amundson, and Douglas (Judy) Amundson; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and other extended family members. 

Interment: Friday, October 3, 2025, at 11:00 am at ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND. 

Memorials: are preferred to Home on the Range for boys.
