Glenna Jordan

Feb. 16, 1927-Sept. 5, 2025

Los Gatos, Calif.

On September fifth at 4:10 A.M. our beloved Mother Glenna Jean Jordan received her heavenly wings. She and our father bought their first home in Los Gatos after our Daddy retired as Lt. Colonel in the Army. Mommy loved her independence and was able to live in her home to the end. A full life and the end of an incredibly special era. Glenna Jean Bowen was Born February 16, 1927, raised in North Dakota on her family farm. The Bowen family was separated and quarantined in San Haven tuberculosis Sanatorium for many years.

Known to her grandchildren as “Gramma Great” and “Gramma the Wise” is survived by daughters Sandy, Bonnie, Doreen, nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, four nieces in Oregon, a nephew in Colorado and three sons in laws.

She enjoyed her biweekly puzzles, Sudoku books, card games and lunches with her friend aka “Sista” who brought her such joy. Mommy loved golf and bridge, playing rummy with all of us around her kitchen table. A memory we all share… Having regular “malted milks” and trips to Bass Pro shop with her great grandson for years were special. They loved hiding behind the sleeping bag and camouflage displays. Imagine, losing site of an elderly woman and toddler in a giant warehouse. Yikes. You were such fun to be with. Mommy would at times forget to take her vitamins or may skip a meal but never forget her nightly margarita! Go figure. To her family and friends, please know that all your holiday shenanigans and phone calls were important and appreciated by her. She referred to me as her best friend and very own Nag. With increasing hearing loss, she and I would often laugh that yelling became our love language. Mother, please give our sweet sister Jackie, Daddy and the entire Bowen Clan our love. I’m quite sure if there are cards and margaritas in heaven, you have found them. Ninety-eight and a half years young. Wowie! You will forever be in our hearts and at our card tables. We all love and thank you for the countless laughs and memories. Sincerely, Bonnie, Sandy, and your very own Nag, me, Doreen.
