Diane Dignan, age 89 of Lake Metigoshe, passed away in Camas, Washington, on August 22, 2025. A memorial service will be held on September 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Metigoshe Christian Center. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to the Metigoshe Lutheran Church or Metigoshe Ministries.
Diane was born May 1, 1936, in MInot, North Dakota to A.F (Pete) Page, and Alta Johnston Page. Diane graduated from Mohall High School and attended Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. She met Jim Dignan at a summer dance in Bowbells and was married in Grand Forks on November 18, 1955. The couple then moved to Mohall where they worked for Page Brothers, Inc., a John Deere dealership owned by Pete Page. Jim and Diane eventually purchased the dealership and ran it for many years.
In Mohall Diane kept busy at Page Brothers with bookkeeping, working in the parts department and various other tasks. She was involved with the Jayceettes, The Order of Eastern Star, and the United Methodist Church. She loved playing piano and played for church services, weddings, funerals, and nursing homes in the area. She enjoyed enjoyed card games with friends and family.
In the mid 1970’s Jim and Diane bought a lot at Lake Metigoshe, where they built a log cabin home which became their favorite place. They sold the implement business and moved to Metigoshe permanently where Diane became with Club de Skinautique, Lake Metigoshe Rec. Service District, the local Lions Club, Lake Metigoshe Lutheran Church, and Lake Metigoshe Ministries. Diane was also known for her quilting and crafting skills which helped raise funds for the annual quilt auction. She proudly sponsored many counselors and campers at the Bible Camp.
In 2019, after Jim’s passing, Diane moved to Oak Manor in Bottineau and lived there until May of 2022. Diane then moved to an assisted living facility in Camas, Washington, to be near family.
Diane is survived by sons Jim (Char), Steve (Connie), Grandchildren Matt (Brie), Christopher (Lee), Jessica (Michael), Jay (Kelley). Great-grandchildren Frances, Jane, Mae, Ada, Hugh, Hadley, Blake, Bennett, Lexi and Miles.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Alta and her husband Jim.
