Patrick Wilkie

Patrick Richard Wilkie was born Nov. 30, 1950, to Stella LaForte and Patrick Wilkie in Devils Lake. He was a proud member of the Anishinaabe nation and an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. He passed away on Aug. 1, 2025, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

Patrick graduated from Flandreau High School in Flandreau, S.D.

He married Leann Ronsberg in 1980, and they lived in Jamestown and Minot. He worked as a certified railroad engineer for Burlington Northern Railway for almost 40 years and, later, as a mechanic at Titan Machinery and Acme Electric.

Patrick and Leann were blessed with four children: Rebecca (Troy Clark); Jeremiah (Jenny) Wilkie; Tashina Wilkie; Shadae (Stewart) Harrison; fourteen grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A celebration of Patrick’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9, at 11 a.m. at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church’s Fellowship room, Minot.
