Orlo “Boyd” Roberts, 85, Minot, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in a Minot nursing home.
Orlo Boyd Roberts was born on October 1, 1939, a son of Orlo and Hazel (Bauer) Roberts in Minot, ND. He was raised on the family farm north of Ryder, ND, and graduated in 1957 from Ryder High School. Boyd furthered his education by attending the Minot State College.
On October 23, 1960, Boyd was united in marriage to Claudia Danks at the First Presbyterian Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where he worked for Gaffaney’s of Minot, where he worked in sales, retiring at the age of 62, following 42 years of service.
Boyd and Claudia enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their RV, wintering in the Southern part and traveled to Alaska three times. They also traveled to Australia. He enjoyed hunting big game and fishing. He was a member of the Minot Eagles Club, the Minot Elks, and the Minot Gun Club.
Boyd is survived by: Wife of 65 years, Claudia; son Justin Roberts; daughter Sherry (Terry) Olander; grandson Jace (Kadie) Olander, two great-grandchildren Adeline and Liv Olander; sister Beverly Larson; nieces several cousins also survive.
Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Kordel Boyd Roberts, and two brothers-in-law Derald Larson and Muryl Danks.
Visitation: Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 1 until 3 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park Columbarium, Minot.
