Lola Willert went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025 at the Good Shepherd Home in Watford City.

Lola Lillian (Jensen) Willert, 88 was born on Sept. 25, 1936 in Parshall to Jens C. and Alice (Johnson) Jensen.

On Oct. 14, 1954 Lola was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Willert, until he passed away one month short of their 60th anniversary. In 1957 they moved from Minot to Williston.

She was a great homemaker and seamstress; she sewed for a lot of people. She made several wedding and bridesmaids dresses but was most proud of the wedding dresses she made for her 2 daughters, Debbie and Susan. She then moved onto sewing drapes and curtains which she loved.

Lola was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Lola and Ken loved to travel and spent 18 winters in Myrtle Beach, S.C. After Ken’s passing, she continued to travel with family. One of her last big trips she was able to make it out to the East Coast to see 14 states in 14 days. On her trip to Noah’s Ark in Ky. at age 81 she ziplined. Lola drove her first solo trip to Michigan in her 80’s.

She enjoyed the outdoors tending to her garden and flowers. Lola adored her pond, and birdwatching. Christmas was her favorite, and she loved holidays with her family. She cherished every moment spent watching her grandchildren play sports. Lola was a wonderful wife, mother and grandma full of love.

Lola is survived by daughter, Susan (Russell) Zuege of Marysville, MI; son, Steven Willert of Williston, ND; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jade, Jaron (Ashley), Jalissa (fiancé, Zach Feece) Zuege; Michael (Nichole) Scheele, and Rhiannon Willert; great-grandchildren, Jaiden Zuege, Landon Zuege, Easton Zuege, Blake Lillian Zuege just born on June 14, 2025, Corbin and Peyton Scheele; brother, Jens (Alta Mae) Jensen; sister, Marie (Jon) Wissler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lola is preceded in death by her husband, Ken Willert; her parents; daughter, Deborah and son-in-law, Rick Waitman and their son, Joshua in 1978; grandson, Jamin Zuege in 1982 and sister, Dorothy Bird.

The Family would like to extend a special Thank You to Maple View Memory Care in Minot and Good Shepherd Home in Watford City for the special care and for making Lola (Mom and Grandma) so comfortable.

Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Williston. Pastor Dale Hardy will officiate. Burial will be in

Riverview Cemetery in Williston, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 8, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home in Williston. A Family Service will be held immediately following the visitation, all are welcome to attend.

The service will be recorded and posted as soon as it is available.
