David C. Hanson, 72 of Willow City died with his family by his side on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota.

David, the son of Marvin and Irma (Biberdorf) Hanson was born on January 31, 1953 in Bottineau, North Dakota. He graduated from Willow City in 1971, then enlisted in the U.S. Army.

On January 14, 1977, he was united in marriage to Debra Solem in Rugby. He is survived by his wife, Debra; son, Darren Hanson (LeAnn Bonn); daughter, Melissa (Daryl) Emineth; sisters, Kathryn Rottinger, Diane Cote and Janeen Pollman and his grandchildren, Cassidy, Jessie, Nora and Connor.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3rd at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby. Burial with military honors will be at 4:00 p.m. at the Willow City Cemetery and fellowship to follow at the Community Hall.
