Ronald J. Hansen, 82, Minot, died Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.
Ronald Joseph “Ron” Hansen was born June 7, 1943, the son of Raymond and Phyllis (Wald) Hansen in Minot. He attended grade school in Norma, before attending Tolley High School, where he graduated in 1961. Ron furthered his education by attending the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton.
Ron was united in marriage to Donna Alexander on July 27th, 1962, in Donnybrook. They made their home in Minot, where in 1973, they opened Ron’s Appliance and Repair. Together they ran the business until retirement in 2010.
You would almost always find Ron and Donna on Fridays at Ben’s Tavern patio where numerous memories and friendships were made. Donna passed away on December 30, 2023.
Ron enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings fan, and enjoyed attending softball games both as a spectator, and as a player.
He also enjoyed traveling to the Black Hills. He had a knack for fixing anything that needed repair. Ron was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all that knew him.
Ron is survived by: his children, Scott (Joyce) Hansen, Mountain, Tim Hansen (Bev Pfeifer), Minot, and Rochelle (Kasey) Hudson, Minot; grandchildren, Emily (Eric) Terry, Justin (Hayley) Hansen, Jeremy (Melissa) Hansen, Celeste (Tyler) Bernardi, Anthony Hansen, Lecia (John) Lintvelt, and Austin (Jerica Hanson) Hager; great-grandchildren, Zach, Hailey, Mavis, Quinn and Lukas; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Alexander Tolley; brother-in-law, Paul (Terry) Alexander, Tolley; nieces, Jana, Heidi, and Margy; nephew, Tom; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 61 years, Donna, brother-in-law, Larry Alexander.
Visitation: Saturday, July 26. 2025 from 10 a.m. until Noon at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Funeral Service: A private family funeral service will take place with a burial to follow at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
A Celebration of Life for Ron: will take place Saturday, July 26, 2025, 3 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, located at 400 9th St SW, Minot.
