Funeral services for Louise Windfaldet will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 21, 2025 at the Ambrose Lutheran Church. A reception will immediately follow the service. Interment will then take place at the Ambrose Cemetery.
Louise Windfaldet was born February 20, 1938, in Sherwood, North Dakota, to Glenn and Ethel (Sundby) Beckedahl. She passed away July 9, 2025, at Trinity Health in Minot, North Dakota, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Louise graduated from Sherwood High School as salutatorian of her class. During her high school years, she worked at the drugstore and café in Sherwood. She went on to attend Minot State Teachers College, where she obtained a teacher’s certificate. She taught for one year.
On February 15, 1958, she married Lyle Windfaldet in Sherwood, North Dakota. To this union three children were born: Robert, Lori, and Debra.
During her lifetime, her places of employment included JCPenney’s, Farmers Union Insurance and Credit Union, librarian for Divide County School District, and the Fortuna Air Force Base.
Louise was a member of the Ambrose Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed.
Surviving family members include husband Lyle Windfaldet of Crosby, North Dakota; son Robert Windfaldet of Ambrose, North Dakota; daughters Lori (Robin) Hauge of Williston, North Dakota, and Debra (Joseph) Baro of Bellevue, Washington; sister Lois (Bill) Tallent of Lake Tapps, Washington; sisters-in-law Mary Beckedahl of Landa, North Dakota, Myrna (Paul) Woitzel of Mapleton, North Dakota, and Elaine (Pete) Mahan of Hendersonville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who held a very special place in her heart: Stacey and Aaron Peterson (Auna, Sonja, and Aksel); Grant and Addie Windfaldet (Porter); Aaron and Lisa Windfaldet; Billie and Garrett Aasand (Scottie); and Brian, Kyle, Amy, and Steven Baro; and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a friend since first grade, Louise Eriksmoen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather Donald Medler and in-laws Lars and Clarice Windfaldet; siblings Gail (Roger) Halverson, Richard (Delores) Beckedahl, and Rodney Beckedahl; and infant nephew Glenn Beckedahl.
