Curt Bahl

Oct. 3, 1953-June 4, 2025
The Villages, Fla.
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Curtis Brian Bahl. On June 4, 2025, Curt passed away peacefully at his home in The Villages, Fla., after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.
Curt was born in Mohall on Oct. 3, 1953, to Clyde and Lillian Bahl. He was welcomed home by an older brother, Robert (Bob) Bahl. A few years later, Kent and Michael would join the family and complete the Bahl boy crew. Growing up, you could find him helping on the family farm, taking time out to play football or playing trombone in the high school band or leaving a trail of dust on the local gravel roads. He graduated as a Yellowjacket in 1971. After high school, he was married to Marcia (Gilseth) Bahl, and had three children, Chad, Nicole and Angela.
As a young adult Curt tackled working in the oil industry and found a real passion for the oil business. He continued running stairs to the top of the saltwater tanks well into his fifties, probably better than he ran the bleachers training for football in his teens.
Curt spent many years with his life partner, Susan Sundahl. In 2022, they were united in marriage. They have created many wonderful memories in the more recent years wintering in their Florida home. His family was extended with multiple nieces and nephews, whom he deeply cherished.
In December of 1998, Curt awaited the arrival of his first grandchild by anxiously pacing the hospital hallways. Over the next decade, six more grandchildren would have the pleasure of calling him Grandpa. He even proudly wore the title Great-Grandpa, as well! His eyes would light up with the mention or sight of those kids! He was always up for the adventure of entertaining the youngsters and many times took on all seven at once. They will always remember the numerous hours spent riding horse, ripping around on the four wheelers and having lunch together while riding in the combine. Most evenings at Grandpa’s farm were wrapped up with smores around the campfire, accompanied by heart-felt conversations and hours of stories and endless laughter.
Curt was always up for a celebration whether it was with family or friends. He enjoyed visiting with anybody and everybody and always made one feel like they were the most important person in the room. He had a great listening ear and was happy to hand out advice when needed. To know Curt, was to truly love him.
