Bernadine Volk, the daughter of Pete and Leonida (Giesinger) Koenig was born on January 25, 1936 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Rugby.

She died at the age of 89 on July 27, 2025 at The Haaland Home in Rugby.

She is survived by her children, Tim of Glascow, MT; Mary (Joe) Schmaltz of Rugby; Heidi (Randy) Luraas of Dickinson; Monica (Bob) Houim of Rugby; Jeff of Vancouver, WA, Edie (Bob) Schell, Harvey; Dana (Cathy) Volk of Deadwood, SD, Lisa (Doug) Thorp of Towner, Toby of Seattle, WA and Jeremy of North Branch, MN.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 2 at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary, vigil prayer service and sharing beginning at 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby.

Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
