Teresa M. Carico, 64, Des Lacs, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 19, 2025 in her home.

Teresa M. Carico was born on September 16, 1960, the youngest of five children born to Virgil A. and LaVetta Mae (Berntson) Carico in Minot, ND.

She was raised and educated in Des Lacs, attending Burlington Elementary School and graduating from Des-Lacs Burlington High School in 1978, as the Co-Salutatorian.

Teresa began her working career by working at Big Bear Sporting Goods, before joining the team at Des Lacs Sand and Gravel, where she was a “jack of all trades,” primarily working as a bookkeeper.

Teresa then worked at General Equipment in the bookkeeping department, retiring to care for her parents. Following their death, she returned to the workforce, and was currently employed by Donn Brown Construction.

Teresa loved working in her yard, spending time outdoors, and enjoyed caring for all animals, especially cats and dogs. She was a loving sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend and will be missed by all that knew her.

Those Who Shared In Her Life: son, Virgil Jr. and his wife Dee; daughters, Sandra and husband Richard Trondson, Sharon Fjeldahl and Ann Carico. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, David Carico, Dawn (Carico) Keelin, Brian Trondson, Nathan Fjeldahl, Kayla (Fjeldahl) Moore, Patrick, and Paxton Perlichek.

Numerous cousins, great-nieces, and nephews also survive.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother-in-law Daniel Fjeldahl.

Visitation: There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place, however, people may sign a guest register on Friday one hour prior to the service in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Memorial Service: Friday, at 11 a.m. in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed at www.thompsonlarson.com and visiting Teresa’s web page

Burial: A private family committal service will take place at a later date.
