Peggy Undlin

Dec. 16, 1951 – June 17, 2025

Lansford

Peggy Jean Undlin, 73, of Lansford, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Home in Bottineau.

Peggy was born on Dec. 16, 1951, in Minot, to Floyd “Doc” and Margaret “Peg” (Argersinger) Tyler. Peggy was raised in Lansford, where she graduated from Lansford High School in 1969. In her early years, Peggy traveled extensively with her retired parents, spending winters along the East Coast and in Florida. Her youth was filled with a love of music and dance, often dedicating hours to practicing piano. She also played saxophone in band and sang in the choir. Growing up, she shared a backyard with her cousins, Margie, Judy, and Debbie, who were as close as sisters.

Peggy attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Music in December 1972. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority at UND which led to many cherished friendships.

On June 24, 1972, Peggy married Ronald Undlin at the United Methodist Church in Lansford. The couple made their home on a farm southeast of Lansford, where they raised their four children.

Peggy began her teaching career at Lansford Public School primarily teaching kindergarten, as well as first grade for several years. Her career in education spanned over 30 years, concluding with two years at the M-L-S School in Mohall before retiring in 2006. One of the highlights of her career was the opportunity to teach each of her children in kindergarten.

A lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Lansford, now Trinity United Church, Peggy served as the church organist for more than 50 years, was active in the United Methodist Women, and also taught Sunday school. She provided music for countless weddings, funerals, holiday services, Memorial Day observances, and school events.

Peggy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a Girl Scout member and leader for her daughters’ troops, and an avid bowler winning a state championship. She found great joy in attending the various school and sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Alongside Ronald, she enjoyed traveling and spent 15 winters in Arizona.

Survivors include: her husband of 52 years, Ronald Undlin, Lansford; four children: Heidi (Brian) Stevens of Grand Forks, and their children, Jack and Hayley; Heather (Matthew) Martin of Lansford, and their children, Connor, Callie, and Cole; Holly (Brian) Undlin Weismantel of Gilbert, Ariz., and their children, Finn and Sylvie; and David (Anjuli) Undlin of Lansford, and their children, Daya and Decker; brother, Fred (Janaan) Tyler; mother-in-law, Margaret Undlin; brother-in-law, Curt (Irva) Undlin; sister-in-law, Margo Undlin, all of Lansford; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
