Grant Keith Evenson passed away surrounded by his family on Jan. 8, 2025, at Providence Medical Center in Everett, WA.
Grant was born at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, Minn., on Sept. 19, 1979, to Gary and Deborrah (Johnson) Evenson.
He attended grades preschool through four at St. Mary’s School. He was in many community sports.
Then after moving to Brainerd, Minn. Grant attended grades five through twelve at Brainerd Schools. He played Basketball all through High School and loved having his friends over for many basketball games.
He graduated from Brainerd High School in 1998 and continued his education at St. Cloud University and the St. Cloud Technical College. He joined the US Navy in 2003, worked in communications and was deployed all around the world.
Grant was married to Eliza Comicho on Nov. 2, 2006. They made their home in Oak Harbor, WA.
Together they were blessed with a daughter, Fiona Helena, on March 12, 2018. Grant enjoyed music concerts and festivals, disc golf, video games, snowboarding, and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his spouse Eliza Evenson; daughter Fiona Evenson; mother Deb Evenson of Baxter, Minn.; sister Carla (Scott) Kruger; in-laws Leo and Wilda Comicho, and Ezreal Comicho; nieces and nephews Cody Bohn, Reid Pikula, Ava Pikula; grand-nephews Madden and Mason; Aunts and Uncles Mitchell and Marilee Johnson, Robert and Melissa McConnel, David Johnson, Linda Lance, and Don and Margo Evenson; and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father Gary K. Evenson; half brother Joel McMaster; paternal grandparents Curtis and Donna Evenson and maternal grandparents Roger and Annie May Johnson all of Minot, ND; uncles Brett and Roger Evenson; Aunt Nancy Evenson; and special fur buddy Booker.
Grant will be laid to rest at Rosehill Memorial Cemetery in Minot, ND.
A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Grant will always be remembered for his big grin, his kindness, and the love he had for his family. He is forever in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
