Gary Christenson, 71, Minot, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Trinity Nursing Home.

Gary Andrew Christenson was born July 29, 1953, in Minot, ND, to Gordon and Barbara (Skarstad) Christenson. He attended and graduated from the Bottineau school system in 1971. He married Edith Rostad on August 31, 1974. He attended Dakota College at Bottineau and Minot State University, where he earned a degree in Social Science while working full-time. Gary worked in the IT field for 45 years at Minot Air Force Base. Gary and Edith’s son, Andrew Gordon Christenson, was born December 28, 1983. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Minot.

Gary is survived by his wife of 50 years, Edith; son, Andrew; father, Gordon O. Christenson;

aunt, Sharon Anderson and her family; uncle, Gayle (Deborah) Skarstad and their family; aunt, Sharon (Sherman) Langehaug and their family. Gary has numerous cousins that have been a part of his life. Brother-in-law, Scott Rostad; and special family friends, Cindy, Brian, Debi, and Lynda.

Gary is preceded in death by: mother, Barbara D. Christenson; baby sister, Barbara Gene Christenson; grandparents; Andrew and Anna Christenson, and Gerhardt and Gerta Skarstad; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Irven and Carol Rostad; aunts and uncles, Melbourne and Alma Christenson, Donald Christenson, Marvin and Alida Christenson, Thelma and Glenn Hillig, Rodney Anderson, Norman Skarstad and his son, Paul; Cameron Skarstad, baby Christenson, Edith’s grandparents and several of Edith’s uncles, aunts, and cousins.

The family would like to thank all who have said kind words of support and helped in so many other ways.

Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Funeral: Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment: Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Nordland Cemetery, Bottineau, ND.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Carpio Cemetery Association, First Lutheran Church, or the Metigoshe Cemetery Association.
