Steven J. Brekhus, 74, Kenmare, passed away Thursday, Jan 30, 2025, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Steven was born Jan 3, 1951, the son of Art and Garnet (Johnson) Brekhus, in Kenmare, ND.

He attended Rockford country school, graduating in 1969. After graduation he proudly served his country in the Vietnam Conflict.

In 1972, Steven married Mary Caroline and they were blessed with two sons, Greg and Jason. They later divorced.

In 1982, Steven married Reva Marmon and they were blessed with three children, Brady, Brandy, and Randi. Reva sadly passed away in 1996.

In 1999, Steven married Janice Anderson and they were happily married for 21 years. Janice sadly passed away in 2020.

Steven worked at the Farmers Union of Kenmare before retirement.

Steven loved to make people smile and laugh. He could spark up a conversation with anyone. He also had a great passion for music.

After retirement, Steven and Janice enjoyed road trips together and visiting family.

His loving family includes:

Children, Greg (Heidi) Brekhus, Jason (Monica) Brekhus, Brandy (Ryan) Schmidt; 3 step-children; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Milton (Jeanne) Brekhus; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Reva; wife, Janice; children, Randi Rae and Brady Brekhus; 5 sisters; 3 brothers; 2 grandchildren; and 1 great nephew.

Memorial Service: Friday, June 6, 2025, 11 a.m. at Evanger Lutheran Church, rural Kenmare, ND. Signing of the guest book one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment: Evanger Cemetery, rural Kenmare, ND.
