Petronilla “Pat” Schumaier, 98, Minot, ND, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Benedictine Living Center, Garrison.

Petronilla Katherine Schreiner was born September 18, 1926, the daughter of Nicholas and Aurelia (Ulrich) Schreiner, in Garrison, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Garrison, North Dakota.

She married Ruben Schumaier on September 25, 1944. They made their home on a farm east of Garrison. Ruben passed away on October 14, 1993.

Pat was the oldest of 7 children with two surviving sisters. She worked on the farm until they moved into Garrison. In 1967 they made their home in Minot. Pat worked many jobs throughout her life and loved to volunteer wherever she was needed. She was a loving mother, grandma, great grandma and great-great grandma. She was kind and soft-spoken with a great sense of humor. Pat loved to cook and made sure you never went hungry. She would just sit back and take it all in and always wanted to keep the peace. Pat loved to give, and she knew it was more to give than to receive. She loved her family unconditionally and most of all she loved all the babies. Pat lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the food pantry and she enjoyed arts and crafts.

Although Pat is gone, she will live on in our hearts forever.
