Gerald Undlin, 88, Minot, formerly of Lansford, died Saturday, May 10, 2025, at his home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1937, in Minot, to Joey and Esther (Blowers) Undlin. He was raised on the family farm in Renville County, rural Lansford. He attended Lockwood Township School and graduated from Lansford High School in 1955. He attended Minot State College for a time.

Gerald was united in marriage to Alice Engebretson on Sept. 17, 1961, at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall. They spent one year in Kansas while Gerald’s National Guard unit was called up to active duty during the Cuban missile crisis. They moved back to the farm near Lansford where he farmed and ranched for many years. In addition to farming, he had cows and pigs. He retired from farming in the early 2000s. Gerald and Alice moved to Minot in 2003. Alice died April 18, 2022.

Gerald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and later Trinity United Parish, Lansford. He served on the boards of Trinity Lutheran, Farmers Union, Lansford School, Cenex, and was a member of the Minot Golden K Kiwanis Club.

Gerald loved gardening, watching sporting events of his grandchildren, and selling his garden produce out of his pickup.

Family: son, Vance (Cindy) Undlin, rural Lansford; daughter, Julie (Michael) Beitscher, Burlington; grandchildren, Taylor (Cliff) Winkler, rural Lansford, Adam (Caleen) Undlin, rural Donnybrook, Lucas (Reese) Undlin, Baker, Mont., Lindsey Undlin, rural Lansford, Madison (Jason) Baldree, Land O’ Lakes, Fla., McKenzie Munday, Bismarck; great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Clifford and Walter Winkler, Paxton Undlin, Morgan and Logan Baldree; sister, Diane (Tom) Harger, of Ariz.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gerald was preceded in death by: his parents, Joey and Esther Undlin; wife, Alice; sisters, Janice (Curtis) Talley, Margie Routledge, Deloris Dring and Harriet Zietz.

Funeral: 11 a.m., Friday, May 16, 2025, at Trinity United Parish, Lansford.

Burial: Lansford Cemetery, Lansford.

Sharing of Memories Service (Open to the public): 7 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the church.

Memorials: Memorials preferred to Trinity United Parish, Lansford.
