Cole Gravesen, 33, Kenmare, N.D., passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, at his home in Kenmare.
Cole Carlton Gravesen was born July 25, 1991, the son of Mark and Tami (Schoen) Gravesen, in Burnsville, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Minnesota and North Dakota, graduating from Kenmare High School in 2009.
Following high school, he furthered his education at the University of Phoenix studying online. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He recently enrolled in Mayville University in pursuit of an accounting degree.
Cole worked at various jobs throughout his working career. He worked at a variety of trucking jobs in the area, on a cattle ranch, and he was recently working at a local grocery store.
Cole was a caring and thoughtful person. His family and friends were important to him. He was kind hearted and he had an empathetic and generous nature about him. He always put others above himself and was willing to help and support others in any way he could. He had a big and gracious heart, and he always found good in people.
He was an incredibly thoughtful gift giver. He put a lot of thought into gifts and would tailor gifts to match the recipient’s personality.
He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare.
He enjoyed hunting, golfing, riding horses, and attending his niece’s and nephew’s events.
His loving family includes: grandmother, Mary Schoen; parents, Mark and Tami; brothers, Seth (Janae) Gravesen, Chad Gravesen; aunt and uncle, Ann (Dave) Reich; uncle, Sean Schoen; cousin; Kristen Reich; nephew and niece, Brandt and Blaire.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, LeRoy and Maurine Gravesen, and Stan Schoen Sr.; uncle, Stan Schoen Jr.
Memorial Service: Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare.
Interment: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, N.D.
Memorials: are preferred to Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare or Kenmare Fire Department.
