Betty Marie Frey, 83, Minot, formerly of Lansford, died Sunday, May 18, 2025, at a Minot nursing home.

She was born Oct. 10, 1941, in Turtle Lake, Wisc., to Theodore and Marie (Homann) Jarchow. As a young girl, she moved to Lansford with her mother and brother. Her mother married John Hoberg who supported and raised her.

She graduated from Lansford High School in 1959. She was once married to Lyle Webster. To this union, two daughters, Wendy and Penny were born.

She moved to Minot and worked at the Clarence Parker Hotel, first as a desk clerk, then in auditing, and later as the assistant manager.

Betty married Alfred Frey in June of 1970. To this union, a son, Kory, was born. Together, Al and Betty worked and raised their three children.

Later, Betty worked at the Ramada in the accounting office; she retired in 1995.

Betty was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.

She loved visiting family and was an avid reader. Betty was an excellent cook and baker. She loved putting on a big spread and feeding her family for special events: birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc. She also enjoyed gardening and canning the harvest from her garden.

She is survived by family members, husband; Alfred Frey, Minot; daughters, Wendy (Thomas) Marsden, Beaver, Penn.; Penny Frey, Bismarck; son, Dr. Kory (Terry Wilson) Frey, Madison, Wisc.; grandchildren, Marlena (Darren) Zaun, Bismarck; Joshua (Kara) Frey, Cando; Ainslee Marsden, New York, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Drayton, Dominic and Devyn Zaun, Gracie, Gage, Josie and Gunnar Frey.

Betty was preceded in death by: her parents, John and Marie Hoberg, and Theodore Jarchow; and all five of her brothers.

Funeral: 11 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.

Burial: Lansford Cemetery, Lansford.

Fellowship: At the Prairie Bistro, Mohall, following the burial.

Visitation: Thursday, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
