Mary Ann Erickson

Mary Ann (Ely) Erickson was born July 9, 1930 in Williston, ND to Blanche and Edward Ely and died February 19, 2025 in Walnut Creek, CA. with family by her side.

Mary grew up in Columbus, ND, the second oldest of nine. She married Adolph Erickson in 1950 in Minot, ND, and they had 3 daughters. The family lived in Bowbells and Minot, ND and Great Falls, MT before moving to Tulare, CA in 1966. For many years she worked as a Registered Nurse at Tulare District Hospital. They later moved to Fresno, CA, where Mary was employed at Valley Children’s Hospital. In 2024, she moved to Walnut Creek, CA to live with her daughter.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, then great-grandchildren. She loved attending their school activities, awards ceremonies and sports. She was also a wonderful mother, nurse and friend. She radiated positive energy and strength and was always calm with a kind word for everyone. We will miss her smile, compassion and understanding.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1999, her siblings, Edward, Charles and Donna Bradford. She is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Nicholas) Petrelli of Newark, DE; Susan (Jerry) Herrera of Fresno, CA; Nancy Erickson Stalker of Walnut Creek, CA; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her sisters, Susie Hedequist of Spokane, WA; Roberta Olson of Mesa, Arizona; Jerilyn Tessmer of Highlands Ranch, CO; Judy Sabo of Sedona, AZ and her brother, Mike Ely of Columbus, ND.

Mary was a faithful parishioner of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fresno, CA. A Memorial Mass will be held. The burial service will be Saturday, March 15 at 9AM at the Clovis Cemetery.
