Jerald Miller, 80, Berthold, ND, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.
Jerald Wayne Miller was born September 22, 1944, the son of Andy and June (Johnson) Miller, in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in the Tolley area.
He was drafted into the United States Army in 1965. He attended Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia and helicopter school at Fort Eustis, Virginia. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1967. Following his time in the military he was a maintainer for Renville County.
He married Linda Johnson on December 28, 1970, in Minot, ND. They made their home in Berthold, ND, where he built their house, and they raised their four children, Troy, Tammy, Marty, and Heather. Jerry worked for Great Plains Lumber and then Lee Farms from 1991 until his retirement in 2014. Linda passed away September 25, 2015.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved spending time at Mouse River Park where he and Linda would spend the morning floating on the river on their pontoon with their thermos of coffee. He liked to visit with his family and friends, and he always had a smile for everyone.
His loving family includes: children, Troy Miller, Berthold, Tammy (Dean) Mattern, Minot, Marty (Janelle) Miller, Berthold Heather (Todd) Gathman, Foxholm; grandchildren, Shana (Devin) Pfeiffer, Jordan (Reshmee) Semmen, Alexis (Atticus) Fisher, Morgan Miller, Riley Miller, and Landry Gathman; great-granddaughter, Ember Pfeiffer; brothers, Rodney (Karen) Miller, Scott O’Clair; sisters, Sandra (Gaynard) Schweitzer, Debbie Knutson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; Andy Miller and June O’Clair; wife of 45 years, Linda; brother, Duane Miller, brother-in-law, Eugene Knutson,
Funeral: Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold.
Interment: McKinney Cemetery, Rural Tolley, ND at 2:00 pm.
Visitation: Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
