Howard D. Duchscher was born on September 1st, 1931 to Jacob and Amelia (Schiff) Duchscher in Rugby, North Dakota. He died at the age of 93 years under the care of his family and hospice on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at his home in Rugby. In 1951, he was inducted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1959. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann Volk in 1954. He is survived by his sons, Bill (Jan Matske) of WI, Dan of OR, Tim of Minot and Keith of OR; daughters, Diane Brandt, Kathy (Wes) Broe and Mary Vold, all of Rugby; sisters, Bernice Kirchofner, Carolyn Bickler, Helen Kremer, all of Rugby and Evalyn (Tim) Blessum of Minot; sister-in-law, Mary Duchscher of Rugby; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby and burial with full military honors to follow at the Little Flower Catholic Cemetery, Rugby. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with rosary and vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
