Donald Indvik, age 84 of Bottineau passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 at a Bottineau hospital. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 11:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery.
Donald Irwin Indvik, a son of Clarence and Marie (Johnson) Indvik, was born on October 25, 1940 in Bottineau. He was raised in Willow City and graduated from Willow City High School in 1958. He attended college in Bottineau for 2 years before receiving a BS Degree in Civil Engineering from NDSU in Fargo. Don began working for Wold Engineering in Bottineau in 1962. On August 7, 1965 he married Gertrude Wall in Bottineau. They made their home in Bottineau and raised their 2 children, Kim and Kent.
Don was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau where he was active in the church choir. He was a member of SAE Fraternity, Bottineau Eagles Club. He served as a Past President of the North Dakota Association of County Engineers and treasurer of the Bottineau Food Pantry. Don enjoyed traveling the world with Gertie, hunting, Thursday nights at the snowmobile shack, gardening, square dancing, singing in the choir, a good game of whist and enjoyed spending time with many friends and family.
Don is survived by his wife Gertie of Bottineau; daughter, Kim Ellis of Stanley, ND; son, Kent (Amy) Indvik of Minot; grandchildren, Kaleigh (Chris) Armstrong, Ally Indvik, Jennifer (Dylan) Reynolds and Austin Ellis; great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Boston Armstrong; and sister, Barb (Dean) Arneson.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Marjorie Indvik and Helen Edwards.
