Dotty was born November 14, 1925, to Katherine Krause-Seger and Lawrence B. Seger in Renville County Rural Sherwood, N. Dakota.

Departing this life on September 19, 2024, at the age of 98, at the home she shared with her daughter, Kathleen.

Dotty was an avid gardener growing veggies as well as flowers. She loved the outdoors. Dotty and her beloved husband, Celestine “Sal” Volk spent the time on the farm working side by side in all aspects of farm life. They spent time socializing by going to all the ball games, carnivals and whatever was going on in Sherwood at any given time.

A big thing for Dotty after Sal passed was going to town for breakfast, lunch and coffee at 3:00 p.m., at the C Store where she would meet with friends and exchange daily events. She really missed all of this when moving to Austin, TX, about 9 years ago. She never got over leaving North Dakota, and so wanted to return home one day.

Survivors include Dotty’s daughter, Kathleen Volk of Austin, TX; son, David

L. Volk of Sherwood, N. Dakota; granddaughter, Patricia Lawson and her children, Colby (wife, Misti) Howell, Sydney (partner, Sid Francis), Aubrey and Quaid Lawson; and great great grandchildren, Ryker Luetkemeyer, Tatum and Tregan Trotter.

Those who preceded Dotty in death are her parents; husband; and brothers, Howard and Harold Seger.

Cremation has taken place, and no funeral services were desired by Dotty at the present time.
