Larry Richard Grosche was born September 29, 1945, the son of Harry and Delraine (Blada) Grosche, in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Minot, spending most of his childhood on the family farm north of Minot. Growing up, he had a very special relationship with his grandparents, and he developed a lifelong passion for farming from his time spent with them. Larry graduated from Minot High School in 1963.
Following high school, he worked at Harley’s Service Station, and then worked for his father at Grosche Oil and Equipment. Larry was the Senior Vice President and member of the Board of Directors for O’Day Equipment for 38 years, retiring in 2005. He was a leader, mentor, and manager inspiring many that he worked with. During this time, he also operated Grosche Seeding and was part owner of Stonecrafters while continuing to farm throughout his entire life.
Larry enlisted in the United States Army National Guard on September 5, 1966. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.
He was once married to Renee Mahoney and from that union his children, Amy and Cory, were born. His children were his ultimate pride and joy, as were his five grandchildren.
He loved to be busy and had many interests and hobbies. When he wasn’t occupied with his favorite pastime of planting and harvesting, you could find him on the golf course, sorting coins for his grandchildren’s coin collections or playing online poker. He was an avid fisherman, Model T enthusiast and toy train builder. He loved spending his winters in Arizona, golfing and playing cards.
His loving family includes: children, Amy (Darin) Benno, Cory (Racheal) Grosche; grandchildren, Brynley and Cambrey Benno, Allyson, Lincoln, and Sutton Grosche; mother, Delraine Grosche; siblings, Bonnie Coffey, Bill (Bette) Grosche; his very special, Aunt Ruth Earsley; as well as his cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
