Rodney Bruesch

Oct. 6, 1954-Aug. 18, 2024

Bottineau

Rodney Bruesch, 69, Bottineau, ND, formerly of Towner, ND, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck.

Rodney Allen Bruesch was born October 6, 1954, the son of John and Wiletta (Herman) Bruesch, in Minot. He was raised on a farm and educated in Towner.

He married Kamie Johnson in 1975. They were blessed with two daughters, Sandy and Robyn. After schooling he began working for an oil company out of Ray. They divorced in 1980, and Rodney moved to Oklahoma to drive trucks.

While living in Oklahoma, Rodney married Catherine Hollen in 1984. From that marriage he gained three stepchildren, Dustin, Michael, and Christy, who he raised as his own. They were blessed with one daughter, Staci. They all moved to Gillette, Wyoming, where Rodney took a job driving for Armadillo Express. They later moved to Coon Rapids, MN, where Rodney managed that branch of the company. They purchased a house in Blaine Minnesota, but then in 2003, they divorced.

Staci was his baby, they were always together and incredibly close until her passing due to a car accident in 2008, when they were living in Ostego, MN.

Rodney was a member of Norway Lutheran Church, Towner. He enjoyed watching Nascar with friends, country music, and doing crossword puzzles. He was a Mopar guy and was very proud of the Roadrunner he drove when he was younger. The “Squealing bridge” was named for the burnouts he often did there. His favorite color was purple. Rodney was a generous and forgiving person who would give the last penny in his pocket or the shirt off his back, to anyone in need. He was always happy and joking. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

His loving family includes: children, Robyn (Chuck) Blaine, Sandy (Robert) Mikaelson; stepchildren, Dustin Eike, Michael (Amanda) Hollen, Christy Goor; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald (Judy) Bruesch, Darlyn Bruesch, Theodore (Theresa) Bruesch; sisters, Lori Eastman, Valira Grindberg, Kristine (Todd) Denton, Edward Bruesch (deceased) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Wiletta Bruesch; brother, Edward Bruesch; daughter, Staci Bruesch; infant nephew, Jerry Denton; and infant granddaughter, Isabella Bruesch.
