Mildred Bray, 82, Velva, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Souris Valley Care, Velva.
Mildred Amy Davy was born July 30, 1942, the daughter of Frank and Hazel (King) Davy, in Shellmar, MD. She was raised and educated in Kitzmiller, MD.
She married William E. Bray in Accident, Maryland on December 23, 1962. They made their home in Oakland, MD. They were blessed with two children, William and Wendy. Mildred was incredibly proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Following high school, Mildred worked with TDEC as a data entry employee. She then worked for Bausch and Lomb making Ray-Ban sunglasses. Last, she worked at Garrett Community College in the Administrative office until she retired. While employed there, she earned her associate’s degree.
Mildred and William enjoyed going on trips together and spending time with friends. Mildred loved to sit in the sun, read, watch Days of Our Lives, and garden. William passed away May 6, 2019. Following William’s passing, Mildred moved to Velva, ND.
Her loving family includes: children, William K. (Angela) Bray, Wendy Bray; grandchildren, William A. (Savanna) Bray, Pru (Dante) Epperson, Samantha (Andrew) Duncanson, Eden Snell; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Thomas, Adeline, Adrian, Waylan, Ryder, and Alice. sister, Jo Vanmeter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years; brothers, Frederick Davy, William Davy; sister, Lenora (Melvin) Welch; brother-in-law, Stanley Vanmeter.
Services will be held at a later date in Maryland.
