Marvin A. Damschen, 97, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at a local long term care facility. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2024, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan with Pastor Robert Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Marvin was born January 18, 1927, at Wildrose, North Dakota, to William H., and Clara A. (Halvorson) Damschen. He was raised and educated in and around Hamlet and Wildrose, ND. He enlisted in the United States Navy in January, 1945, and was honorably discharged in August 1946.

He is survived by his son William (Traci) Damschen, of Bismarck, daughters Carol Snyder, of Lennox, SD, Nancy (Larry) Johnson, of Alamo, ND, and Glenda (Barry) Soine, of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Joshua Johnson, Tera Oland, Cortney Smith, Jessica Soine, Andrea VanderMaten, Parker Damschen and Chase Damschen; great-grandchildren, Aleah, Avery, Ava, Brynn, Carter, Emily, Hayley, Isaac, Lydia, Mason and Stella.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Clara A. (Halvorson) Damschen; brother, William C. Damschen; sister, Lois A. Colligan; wife, Eunice L. Damschen; and son, Nolan D. Damschen.
