Dennis Robert Lang, 71, Minot, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on September 4, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. Dennis was born on April 4, 1953, Hazen, ND, the son of Bernard and Florence (Klaus) Lang. He was raised in Dodge, and entered the United States Air Force on November 26, 1971, serving during the Vietnam War. He was promoted to Sergeant on February 1, 1974, and was honorably discharged on August 25, 1975.
Dennis was united in marriage to Linda M. Schorr on February 11, 1978, in Minot, ND. The couple made their home in Minot, where they raised their three children. Dennis was employed with the Minot Air Force Base Civil Service, where he served as the Utility Systems Repairer-Operator Supervisor, until his retirement. After retiring, Dennis and Linda enjoyed traveling all over the United States, where they made lifelong friends. He later went to work part-time for the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, as a driver, where he enjoyed keeping busy and meeting new people.
Dennis loved taking care of his yard, and enjoyed spending endless hours tending to his garden and flowering baskets.
Survivors, wife of 47 years Linda; children, Dawn (Dennis) Heskin, C. Scott Schorr, Travis (Terra) Lang; grandchildren, Alexis (Jaden), McKenna, Wyatt and Jake; great-grandchildren, Reed and Brooks; brother, Kenny (Kathy) Lang and sister, Jennifer (Roger) Owen, and extended family and friends. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marc Lang.
The memorial gathering will be on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 3-6 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, 21-3rd Ave SE, Minot. Interment: Monday, September 16, 2024, at Noon, at the ND Veteran Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
