Bottineau

Ronald Ernest Patterson, age 84 of Bottineau, formerly of Souris, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at his home in Bottineau. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 10:00 am at the United Parish in Bottineau. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 pm until 7:00

pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.

Ronald Ernest Patterson, son of Ernest and Alice (Anderson) Patterson, was born on July 5, 1940, in Bottineau. He was the oldest of three children: Patricia Vedquam and Carolyn Patterson of Bottineau.

He attended Souris High School, went to NDSCS and became an electrician. He worked in California for a short time and came back home to farm. In 2021, he and his wife moved to Bottineau.

He married Helen Erickson on November 15th, 1963, at Lesje Church. He made a living as a farmer south of Souris, North Dakota, and he was a member of the United Parish Church of Bottineau. Ron enjoyed farming, ffishing, hunting and following his sons’ and grandchildren’s activities.

Ronald had two sons: Douglas (Kristi), St. Cloud, MN, and Mark (Jennifer), Bottineau. He had three grandchildren: Kade, (Shayla), Baton Rouge, LA, Camden, Fargo, ND, and Keegan, St. Cloud, MN.

Ronald and Helen were married nearly sixty years.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
