Robert G. Laumb–90, Tolley, ND, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 in the Kenmare Hospital with his family at his side.

Robert G. Laumb was born on December 17, 1933, a son of Gilbert and Inga (Kaastad) Laumb in Minot, ND. He was raised in the Lonetree area on the family farm. His dad passed away when he was 13 and he started farming. He graduated from Lonetree High School in 1951 as the salutatorian of his class.

On December 4, 1955, Robert was united in marriage to AnnaMae Jensen at the Lutheran church in Norma, ND. They made their home on the Laumb family farm, where they farmed and raised their children Shelley, Roberta, Joe, and Rebecca.

Robert was active within the community, serving as a founding member of the Upper Souris Water Users Board, McKinney Township Board, and the Norma Farmers Co-Op Elevator Board. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he also served as a church board member and the cemetery caretaker. In 1994, Robert and AnnaMae won the NDSU Harvest Bowl Award.

His family was especially important to him, he enjoyed fishing, and attending the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-granddaughter’s events. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Robert is survived by: Wife of 68 years, AnnaMae: Children: Shelley (Boyd) Brekhus, Joe Laumb, Rebecca (Kemp) Makeeff: Four grandchildren: Samantha Blomquist, Amanda Daeley, Cole Makeeff, Ty Makeeff; three great-grandchildren: Wyatt (Leah Burgard) Blomquist, William Daeley, Morgan Blomquist; one great-great Granddaughter: Ellie Blomquist;

Siblings: Dennis (Kathy) Laumb, Lucille (Ron) Huber; Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and Wilmer Ludwig; daughter Roberta “Robby: Laumb, son-in-law William Daeley and a grandson-in-law Christopher Blomquist; sister, Delores (Bob) Inman.

Visitation: Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 5 until 7 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare

Graveside Service: Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11 am at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Kenmare, ND. Please be advised to bring a chair if you so desire.
