Kenneth Ray Williams

March 25, 1948-July 10-2024

Minot

Kenneth Ray Williams, 76, Minot, ND, formerly of Maddock, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at his home with his loving wife and daughter at his side.

Ken was born March 25, 1948, the son of Clifford and Evelyn (Bratvold) Williams, on a farm east of Maddock, ND. He was raised and educated in Maddock. After high school Ken furthered his education by attending UND, where he graduated with a degree in accounting. After college he moved to Minot and started working at Weber, Spaulding and Co. While working there, he met his future wife, Renae A. Larson.

Ken and Renae were married in 1973 in Maddock and the couple was blessed with a precious daughter, Haley Marie, the love of their lives! The couple moved to Denver, CO, then to Bismarck, but eventually made their way to Minot where Ken worked his way up to Sr. Partner at Brady Martz and Associates. He retired early in 2005 so he could enjoy life with his family.

Ken and Renae loved to be at the farm. Ken loved the farm life and would get up early to head out to the farm. There was always building to do, fences to fix, grass to cut, and snow to remove. He found a lot of joy working with his hands. They would spend several hours a day doing chores, those were some of their happiest memories.

After retirement his favorite past time was golfing with Haley. They would go to all the local courses in Minot and surrounding areas.

He was a founding member of the Minot Area Community Foundation, served on the board of the SVHS, a Rotarian, and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

Ken enjoyed going to Haley’s sporting events, camping, golfing, and reading to Haley, horseback riding. He had a love for animals. Ken was fond of his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He and Renae took a few trips together and made some great memories.

Several years ago he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Parkinson’s disease and because of this Ken’s good life was cut way too short. Ken was everyone’s favorite. Ken had a good heart; he was a good man. He was Renae’s best friend, his family loved him so much and he will be greatly missed.

A special thank you to First Light, Caring Edge Hospice, Pastor Richard North, who quickly became a good friend and mentor to Ken, and to all who helped Renae care for Ken.

Those left to cherish his memory are: wife of 51 years, Renae; daughter, Haley Marie; sister, Janis (Gene) Haugen; brother, Les (Teri) Williams; sister-in-law, Deb Williams; mother-in-law, Deilla Larson; brothers-in-law, Larry (Jill) Larson, Rod (Vickie) Larson; sisters-in-law, Jody Hanson, Pam (Steve) Schlosser, Joan (Darrel) Scofield; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
