Kenneth “Ken” Joseph Schaan, 67 of Rugby, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family with the assistance of hospice on Friday, August 2, 2024.

He was born to John P. and Theresa (Hornstein) Schaan on April 28, 1957 in Rugby, North Dakota. He graduated as Salutatorian from Balta High School in 1975. On June 10, 1978, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Marlene Tuchscherer.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Isaac (Kory) Schaan of Fargo, Riley (Erin) Schaan of Balta, Blake (Heather) Schaan of Harvey and Brett Schaan of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Phoenix, Brian & Skyla Schaan, Brenna Schmitt, Caleb, Meagan, Isaiah & Mckenna Schaan, Parker, Collin, Bentley, Gracie, Beckett & Isabelle Schaan; siblings, Roselyn (James) Aipperspach of Des Moines, IA, Mark (Sue) Schaan of Rugby, Susan (Rick) Sudholt of Liberty, MO, Steve (Peg) Schaan of Fargo, Joyce Johansen (Rich McSorley) of Hope, Walter Schaan of Bismarck, Paul (Jodi) Schaan of Rugby, Terri (Tim) Wald of White Bear Lake, MN and John Schaan Jr. of Bismarck.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 7 at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby with burial in the church cemetery.
