Kathleen “Kathy” A. Bauer died on March 23rd, 2024 at the age of 80. Kathy was born in Kenmare, ND, on October 19, 1943, to Leonard and Ethel (Hanson) Bauer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Kathy attended St. Agnes Academy through ninth grade and graduated from Kenmare Public High School in 1961. She then attended Minot State College, graduating in 1966 with a degree in Physical Education. Kathy taught in Harvey, ND, Denver, CO, and Anchorage, AK, retiring in 1994. She moved to Minot and eventually back to Kenmare. Her last two years were spent at Elison Assisted Living in Minot. She passed away from complications of advanced Parkinson’s disease.

During her life, Kathy enjoyed bird-watching trips with her friends, conversations with her family, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Leonard and Ethel Bauer; sister, Jean Stark; brother, Steve Bauer; and a niece, Heidi Stark Gonzales. Kathy is survived by her brother, Roger, Paul, and John Bauer; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life and Funeral will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kenmare on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. People may gather at 9:00 a.m. to socialize and reminisce about her life.
