Delano Drader

Granville

Delano (Del) Drader was born July 13, 1940 to William and Bessie (Barkus) Drader of Granville, ND and passed away Aug. 7, 2024 in Sequim, WA at the age of 84. He lived most of his life in Granville and helped everybody that needed it. He was an avid baker, and brought cookies and bars to the Senior Center for all to enjoy. He would visit and bring food to the widowers and often mow their lawns and drive them to Doctor appointments. He collected money and did reports for the Senior Meals and was very active with the Senior Citizens, helping with the pancake breakfasts and pinochle tournaments and whatever else that was required.

He had many hobbies, he loved to go camping, boating, fishing, riding motorcycles, baking, cooking, playing pinochle, and dancing.

He graduated from Granville in 1959. He enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked for Northern Plumbing, Bakers Plumbing, and DC Sales for close to 40 years. He was the sextant for the Granville Cemetery and mowed the cemetery for many years. He was a great friend to Mike Sitter and they would go dancing at all the assisted living homes. They even went to several Music Hall of Fame inductions in Aberdeen, SD.

Del is survived by his brother Ted (Bev) of Sheridan, OR, several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Del was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bessie; siblings: Elsie, Clettus, Cleo, Lavere, Gwenavere, and Dorlin.
